Brikwars
As promised, I want to tell you a little something about a game you may not have heard about. It's called Brikwars. It's played with those little plastic contsruction toys known as L**o. Players use the toys to build elaborate armies, buildings, etc. and then use dice and rulers to have them battle. Considering the fact that the warriors are little plastic guys with yellow heads and permanent smiles, many of the battles are waged with tongue firmly in cheek. But there's something exciting about playing a wargame with fighting units that you can hold in your hand in a landscape with three dimensions. It's even better that you can do this with resources that don't require painting and can be easily disassembled and reassembled at your whim (and cost a fraction of what components for those other miniatures wargames require). In fact, you may have the makings of a Brikwars battle in your house at this very minute.

Hey there Kyle. This is M DeVito/Nightrunner from the Blambot forums checking out your site. This game sounds really interesting. I've always been a fan of the classic miniature games like warhammer, but this sounds like a blast. Have you actually tried playing?
Actually, I did. I played a game over the weekend with my son using the Quikwars rules. I had a large WH 40k army and he had always been getting at me to let him play, but I felt it was too expensive for him. This seemed like a good alternative and far less serious. The Quikwars rules were woefully inadequate - as you might guess for a system that makes every unit identical. But it moved pretty quickly considering that we had 3 dozen units on the field. We're moving on to the Brikwars basic rules, which is a lot more like Warhammer - (a)Move (b)Roll to hit (c)Assess damage. I'm looking forward to the next game!
